"Gaudete in Domino semper” (Rejoice in the Lord always)

ree

Brothers and sisters,

The third Sunday of Advent is called Gaudete, because the Church invites us to rejoice in the Lord, always.

It is not a superficial joy, but a profound joy that comes from an encounter with God.

Even when life presents us with sad or difficult moments, we can be happy, because God is close to us.

1. The joy that comes from waiting

Advent is a time of waiting: we await Christmas.

Every true expectation brings with it hope and joy.

God comes for us, and is already present in our lives, in the people we meet and in the small daily gestures.

2. The voice of John the Baptist

John the Baptist does not speak about himself, but points to the Lord:

“There stands among you someone you do not know.”

Often we don't see God because we are caught up in haste or problems.

Today the Baptist invites us to pay attention: God is already here.

3. Christian joy heals and transforms

God brings joy especially to those who are hurting or tired.

Our fears, sins, disappointments, difficult relationships: all can be healed by Him.

Christian joy is born from the love of God that enters our lives and transforms us.

4. How to experience this joy

Christian joy is not just a feeling: it is born from God's closeness.

We can prepare our hearts to welcome it:

• opening spaces for silence and prayer

• listening to the Word

• making small gestures of kindness and charity

Conclusion

“Gaudete in Domino semper” – rejoice in the Lord always!

This joy accompanies us every day, supports us in difficult times, and prepares us to celebrate Christmas.

Let us open our hearts to God and let his joy illuminate our lives.

Amen
